Ride: 03 M5; 07 M Coupe | | | HOU BMW CCA Autox May 17th HPA It's about that time for more legal fun with your car. The next autocross event is May 17th. What is autox?? It's practical application of the basics of car control, and it just happens to be timed, so the semi competitive of us (me) can try to brag for a few weeks. But it really is about making yourself a better driver. (NOTE: The autox committee will be having discussions with participants who exhibit unsafe driving behavior. We appreciate that the Police allow us to use their facility, and we wish for them to continue to allow us to use it.)
You owe it to your car to try it at least once.
These are great opportunities to safely learn the limits of your car right next to a police station, without any fear of getting a ticket or going to jail Registration closes the Friday night before the event.Registration is open now for CCA members. General registration will open May 8th. On-Line Registration
Best $35 mod you can make to your driving experience.
From an event at Gulf Greyhound Park - may need some stiffer springs
Doing this siedways through the timing lights, would be considered unsafe driving, and result in a visit with the autox committee.

The club and the Police Academy are on edge after the way the last three events have gone. Even the SCCA club at GGP is putting a greater emphasis on out of control spins and dangerous driving. I hope you will eventually reconsider, as we enjoy having you and your car out there.
Maybe this is a better description of dangerous sideways through the timing lights, that will get you a visit from the autox committee.

Ride: 1991 332iS | | I don't consider myself a dangerous driver out there. I didn't enjoy being singled out and spoken too by a guy I didn't even know last event. Everyone saw my little spin, which stayed on track, and I was so damn talented I picked up and replaced the 1 cone I knocked over with my car....(seriously though, that was super skill/luck)
Anyways.... maybe I should keep my speedometer burying speeds on the streets. Less people complain about it there |

Jordan, help me understand your situation.
You would rather "keep my speedometer burying speeds on the streets. Less people complain about it there" and risk tickets/accidents vs running at HPA in a safer environment? Most of the guys who have been doing this for awhile (myself included), all have had incidents that have caused people to yell/scream at them, but as long as you learn from the incident and do not repeat it , it is all good.
Now if you want to go drifting, then that's another story and a different event...

My Mood: Ride: 97 M3; 88 M3 | | indeed. jordan, even if u feel the screaming wasn't warranted- given the current on-edge hypersensitive atmosphere w/ the latest incidents (especially w/ 1 on the same day) u gotta take it w/ a grain of salt. no1 wants to lose the site and being under scrutiny by hpa i think folks tend to be more enthusiastic, liberal, and creative w/ their critiques. and as bj said, we've all been yelled at for something. ur not alone!

From the '08 Cone Killer (me ), comes a new course design to test your skillz.
It's not about max Hp, it's not about top $$$ upgrades. It's about how good is the nut behind the wheel, and how to fine tune that nut
Hope to see y'all Sunday.

Ride: 03 M5; 07 M Coupe | | Registration will close at midnight tonight, or when we hit 82 participants. There are about 8 spots left, if you still want to come out. Course should be fun for both the Hp cars as well as the light and nimble ones.
It's almost race day

Ride: 03 M5; 07 M Coupe | | Rain free event
Thad's E30 M3 put the smack down on the Hp cars of "E" again, and Chris' 2002 topped "B", and a Supercharged 530 won out in "C" over a bunch of Mini's.

Great event and course. The first slalom really messed some people up. I though I did better than 3rd in E , but it gives me something to shoot for next time!
